Precision Gears can manufacture worms (ground or milled) in both metals and plastics.   An advantage of a precision ground worm gear is its quiet operation - that is, a worm gear delivers the sliding contact of multiple teeth, resulting in a smooth power transmission.  The consequence is no vibration or chatter, which provides extremely quiet function – well below typical OSHA noise standards.  Another feature of ground worms is that the ground teeth give a higher-precision, smoother tooth silhouette/form.

Pitch: 2.5 D.P. (Diametral (Diametric) Pitch) or Finer
Diameter: Up To 8"
