Since 1919, Precision Gears, Inc. has manufactured a wide range of gears for industrial and commercial markets for a broad variety of applications. Precision Gears, Inc. is a Job-Shop custom gear manufacturer that specializes in the manufacture of short- and long-run high quality precision gears, parts, and assemblies to customers' rigid specifications. With extensive in-house capabilities including gear shaping, thread milling, gear grinding, machining, thread grinding, gear shaving, assembly, and gear hobbing, Precision Gears, Inc. can meet or exceed your specific custom gear manufacturing requirements.

History

Precision Gears, Inc. was incorporated on December 3, 1919 as Precision machine Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. By the early fifties the company had begun to specialize in cutting gears. To reflect that emphasis, the company's name was changed on June 23, 1953 to Precision Gears, Inc.

Due to significant machinery purchases a new location was also needed for more efficient production. In May of 1960 the company moved into a new 15,000 square foot building at N13 W24705 Bluemound Road, Pewaukee, Wisconsin.

On June 30,1962, Gerald Geraldson and David A. Geraldson purchased Precision Gears, Inc. from Walter P. Steiner. The employed managers were kept on, but the new owners were now involved on a full time basis. With sales starting to grow profits were reinvested in the company.

Additions to the plant were made in 1973, 1979, 1984, 1990 and 1995. The facility has grown from 15,000 square feet to 67,000 square feet and investment in new, modern machinery has been continued on an annual basis. Since 1962, in good and bad economic conditions, employees have had steady work. Even with the recent economic times there have been no layoffs and no short hours. The result has been a seasoned and loyal work force with some employees having 20 to 30 years of dedicated service.

In 1991, Gerald sold his half of the company to David and his sons, David Jr., Carl and Eric. With succession in place, Precision Gears, Inc. has continued to grow.

Precision Gears, Inc. is a very well equipped, custom gear manufacturer with a diversified customer base. Its largest customer is less than 8% of its business making for a very stable operation.
